About
Holly Lawrenson Evans is a British Filmmaker based in Edinburgh, Scotland. She has an MSc in Filmmaking and Media Arts from the University of Glasgow, and an MA in History of Art from the University of Edinburgh. Holly is a filmmaker who has a passion for experimental body horror as a method for exploring the human condition.

She got into filmmaking at 18, in her first year of university, by acting in a student film. However, the other side of the camera looked much more interesting. Over the years, she has worked on various student and indie films, starting out as a Hair and Makeup Artist, working up the Art Department and becoming a Production Designer. Then she started writing, directing and editing her own short films, leading to the development of her personal practice, which led her to her MSc. in Filmmaking and Media Arts. Since then, Holly has gained awards for her film 'The Descent' (2024), an experimental feminist body horror, and is looking forward to where it goes next.

ABOUT MY BLOG
To summarise
This is a place for me to document and reflect on my creative process as I progress with my film project. Areas of interest are concept development, exploration, experimentation, production and post-production for this film. In this blog, I will document these stages in my creative practice and I hope to portray my progress. Some posts will discuss my creative influence, while others will document my process accompanied by reflective documentation.
