I made this film as my dissertation project for my MSc in Filmmaking and Media Arts at the University of Glasgow. As part of this, we were encouraged to be our own one person production to learn as much as we could about the process. I directed, choreographed, filmed, lit, edited, sound designed and production designed this film from start to finish, while working with some talented performers, friends and creatives.
The Descent (2024) is an experimental feminist body-horror film that seeks to challenge the status quo of how the Monstrous Feminine is presented in the horror genre.
